It was awarded the loaded card by popular demand of customers at Toops Wholesale New Plymouth during a promotion run at the same time as the recent Commonwealth Games. "It's fantastic," Taranaki Safe Families Trust co-ordinator Callum Williamson said. One of the trust's main messages is anti-family violence. "Not only are we getting our message out there, but we're getting community support," Williamson said. Points will most likely be spent on gathering prizes for the trust's family fun days and community events during White Ribbon Day in November. The competition here was between Taranaki Safe Families Trust and the Taranaki Air Ambulance Trust. "Throughout the promotion it was pretty tight," customer services warehouse manager Marina Healy said. Customers who spent more $200 in store were invited to vote for their favoured charity. - Taranaki Daily News |
